Patient Care Technician with Externship Part 1

Our online Patient Care Technician classes are designed to help you take the next steps toward a new career in healthcare. Throughout your program, you'll work to develop the skills and knowledge that can help you be successful on the job! You'll cover topics like general patient care, pharmacology basics, infection control and foundational healthcare knowledge. Additionally, an externship is included with your Patient Care Technician program to get hands-on practice, gain valuable knowledge, and apply your training through exposure in the healthcare field.

Course Objectives

Translate medical terminology using abbreviations, word building, and important terms.


Be able to name and explain all of the systems of the body.


Summarize the health professional's responsibilities in assisting the provider with examinations.


Review indications, side effects, and adverse reactions of various classifications of drugs.
