College Closed Friday

Due to icy roads, all Wake Tech campuses remain closed Friday. In-person classes are canceled, but online classes continue as scheduled. Students can still register for eight-week courses, and prospective students can apply online. Many Wake Tech services are available virtually. Employees who can work remotely should do so.

Student hosts Taj Hewitt, Jenny Aguilera and Damien Johnson II and Career Coach Mia Kennedy lead the conversation about Wake Tech Career Services and women in STEM. Participants include the following:

  • Marjorie Chanakira, an Associate in Engineering major and Wake Tech Honors Program student
  • Garla Glover Smith, a mechanical engineer and Wake Tech career coach
  • Cocoa Dixon, associate department head of Wake Tech's Life Sciences Department
  • Muffy Vestal, head of Wake Tech's Design and Construction Technologies Department
