Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all Wake Tech campuses closed at 2 p.m. Friday and will be closed all day Saturday. In-person classes are canceled, but online classes continue as scheduled. Students needing assistance can check out the Virtual Support Center.

The Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technology Commercial A/C Track curriculum provides the basic knowledge to develop skills necessary to work with residential and light commercial air conditioning systems.

Course work includes the following topics:

  • Mechanical refrigeration
  • Heating and cooling theory
  • Electricity
  • Controls
  • Safety

AAS degree graduates should be able to assist in the installation, service and repair of residential and light commercial systems and should be able to demonstrate an understanding of system selection, balance and advanced systems.
