RALEIGH, N.C. (April 16, 2024) – Wake Tech's Beta Alpha Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society celebrated 35 new members during an induction ceremony Wednesday on Southern Wake Campus.
PTK is an international honor society that recognizes the academic achievement of students at two-year colleges and provides opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders.
The ceremony featured Don Mial, vice chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, as guest speaker. He encouraged the inductees to continue to practice the values of PTK and strive for excellence.
"Today is a celebration of all your hard work and dedication to your studies," said Mial. "But remember, there is still work ahead. It will not be easy. In fact, a lot of times it will be difficult. But if you keep practicing the values of PTK – scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service – it will be worth it."
