Job Fair Attracts Hundreds

RALEIGH, N.C. (February 18, 2025) – Wake Tech's annual job fair attracted nearly 500 job seekers eager to teach and work at North Carolina's largest community college.

Held at the Southern Wake Campus, the event drew potential candidates for part- and full-time faculty positions in a variety of academic programs in high-demand areas like Biotechnology, Cybersecurity and health care. Several departments also recruited for staff positions in administration, Student Services, Admissions and Financial Aid.

The college's enrollment continues to grow, and hiring managers representing about 40 departments at the college met with candidates, reviewed resumes and conducted initial interviews for open positions. Computers were available for job seekers to apply for employment and upload resumes for consideration for future vacancies.

Kristin Stewart said she was excited to meet and talk to IT and Business department representatives about part-time teaching opportunities. "I've been having lots of good conversations," she said. "The event is very well-organized and well-orchestrated."

Women attending the event also had the opportunity to pick out an interview outfit free of charge from the Dress for Success Triangle mobile boutique.

Naomi Kumera was thrilled to find a pair of dress pants, blazer and blouse that she can now wear and feel confident for interviews. "This was so nice and convenient to have the mobile boutique here," she said. "I have a very minimal amount of professional clothing to wear for interviews, so this will help me have more options."

Career Services also helped guests with ideas for career exploration, as well as assistance with resume and cover letter writing, interview skill building and job search strategies.

Employing more than 3,000 faculty and staff, Wake Tech serves 72,000 students annually, with seven campuses, two training centers, multiple community sites and a comprehensive array of online learning options.
