Wake Tech Instructor Named Leader of Sustainability Efforts

RALEIGH, N.C. (August 23, 2010) - Robert "Butch" Grove, a Wake Tech instructor and administrator for more than 20 years, has been named Wake Tech's new Dean of Sustainability. Grove will be in charge of incorporating sustainable practices and processes into Wake Tech programs as well as adding new environmentally-focused training components. Grove has also been tapped to manage a statewide project to improve the educational curriculum in sustainability and "green" technologies at all North Carolina community colleges. The Code Green Super CIP (Curriculum Improvement Project) will focus on building, energy, transportation, environment, and engineering technology.

Grove started at Wake Tech in 1986 and most recently served as Dean of the Computer and Engineering Technologies Division. In 2000, he was named Wake Tech's Instructor of the Year. Grove holds an A.A.S. degree in Computer Engineering Technology from Wake Tech and a B.S. in Computer and Information Sciences from NC Central University.

He and wife Vickie live in Raleigh.
