The five winning entries will be on display at the NCDA Annual Conference in San Diego later this month. Students will receive a certificate and a special congratulatory gift from the NCDA.

"This competition was an excellent way for our students to explore the intersection between creativity, mental health and their careers," said Garla Glover-Smith of Wake Tech Career Services. "It also serves as a platform to raise awareness about their career paths and the importance of examining what is needed for their career development."

Career Services collaborated with staff and faculty in several departments to promote the competition and judge student entries. Graphic Design Professor Carla Osborne assisted with promotion while Care Team leaders Ashley Wheeler and Richard Redding joined Career Services staff in reviewing 17 submissions.

Wake Tech Career Services receives regular networking and professional development from NCDA, including the local North Carolina chapter NCCDA, where Wake Tech has two members serving on the board. Johnette Smith is the secretary, and Ramchandra Athavale is the membership co-chair.

NCDA provides professional development, publications, standards and advocacy to practitioners and educators who inspire and empower individuals to achieve their career and life goals.
