Wake Tech Joins FSU's Guaranteed Admissions Program

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 22, 2024) – Wake Tech is extremely pleased to announce the addition of Fayetteville State University's Bronco Benefit program to its university transfer options. The program guarantees admission to FSU to Wake Tech graduates who want to complete a bachelor's degree and creates a supportive and seamless transfer process.

Wake Tech and FSU officials celebrated the new partnership Monday at a signing ceremony at the Southern Wake Campus.

Under the agreement, students currently enrolled in Wake Tech's Associate in Arts, Associate in Engineering and Associate in Science degree programs are eligible for Bronco Benefit and, upon graduation, will gain a direct pathway to FSU. They will also have access to FSU's admissions, advising and financial aid support services, as well as special events designed to aid in their transition. The graduates must also meet FSU transfer requirements.

As an N.C. Promise university, FSU tuition is set at a reduced rate of $500 per semester. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher qualify for the Bronco Bridge Scholarship, which will cover the tuition for up to two years toward the completion of a bachelor's degree. The scholarship is also open to students in Wake Tech's Associate in Applied Science degree programs in Nursing, Early Childhood Education, Accounting, Business Administration and Criminal Justice.

"At Wake Tech, we celebrate the power of partnerships," said Wake Tech President Dr. Scott Ralls, "and the incredible range of options they open up for our students. This agreement with FSU will provide exciting possibilities for Wake Tech degree students who want to continue their education at the bachelor's level and beyond."

"The addition of Wake Tech in the Bronco Benefit program tremendously elevates students' access to completing a bachelor's degree program by making transferring to FSU seamless and appealing," said FSU Chancellor Darrell T. Allison. "We want students to continue their education with us and receive a high-quality, affordable education while minimizing the time it takes them to graduate."

After students complete 30 credit hours at Wake Tech, the Office of Adult Learners, Transfer and Military Students at FSU will coordinate support while students conclude their associate degree program to best align courses for transfer credits.

All Wake Tech academic programs offer opportunities to transfer credits to a four-year college or university, and Wake Tech has similar guaranteed admissions partnerships with seven other University of North Carolina institutions:

  • Appalachian State University
  • East Carolina University
  • North Carolina A&T State University
  • North Carolina State University
  • UNC-Chapel Hill
  • UNC-Charlotte
  • UNC-Wilmington

In 2022-23, Wake Tech served 10,562 university transfer students. Learn more about Wake Tech’s university transfer options at transfer.waketech.edu.
