Good Exercise, Great Cause: Register for Fostering Footsteps Run/Walk
RALEIGH, N.C. (January 15, 2025) – Don't miss out on a great opportunity to get some exercise while supporting a good cause! There's still time to sign up for Wake Tech's annual Fostering Footsteps race on February 8 at the Scott Northern Wake Campus. The event supports students who grew up in the foster care system.
Join the Wake Tech Foundation, along with Fit & Able, to help raise money for Wake Tech's Fostering Bright Futures program. Fostering Footsteps includes a 10K, a 5K and a 1-mile Fun Run. A virtual option is also available February 1-8.

"We are excited to be involved in the Fostering Bright Footsteps race," said Ross Sinodis, coordinator of the Fostering Bright Futures Program. "It is extremely heartwarming to see the number of participants and their enthusiasm for this race, the program and our students!"
Fostering Bright Futures provides a pathway to higher education for foster youth aging out of the system. The program provides mentoring and support for students as they pursue a degree and helps them develop life skills and financial independence. National statistics show that less than 6% of children who grow up in foster care go on to earn a college degree.
The program is supported by the Wake Tech Foundation and numerous community partners. Each year, the program accepts up to 20 students. Their tuition and fees are covered, and each receives a stipend to help them pay living and personal expenses.
