RALEIGH, N.C. (April 29, 2013) - Wake Technical Community College President Stephen Scott has announced the recipients of the 2013 President’s Award for Excellence. These six students are being honored with the highest college achievement award presented to any student at Wake Technical Community College.
This year’s winners are: Eileen Fitzgerld, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Linda Mathis, Business and Public Service Technologies Division; Nicholas Weidle, Mathematics and Sciences Division; David Ball, Computer Technologies Division; Melissa Wahl, Applied Engineering and Technologies Division; and Joe Cooley, Health Sciences Division.
The annual President’s Award for Excellence is presented to the single most outstanding student in each degree-awarding division. Winners are selected based on factors including achievement, attitude, motivation, participation inside and outside the classroom, contributions to benefit the program, and involvement in student organizations. Each student received an engraved plaque and their names are engraved on the college’s President’s Award for Excellence trophy, which is displayed in the college trophy case.
The students were recognized at a special honors ceremony and reception, with family and friends present.
