Wake Tech Foundation Welcomes Local Business Leaders to Board of Directors

RALEIGH, N.C. (June 05, 2013) - The Wake Tech Foundation welcomes local business leaders Rod Webb, John Wojcik, and Andy Penry to its board of directors. The new members were selected for their dedication and commitment to the mission of the college. The Foundation Board has also named a new leadership team: Ed Turlington (chair), David Campbell (chair-elect), Larry Hamilton (treasurer), and Dr. Stephen Scott (secretary).
Rod Webb is a Senior Vice President-Raleigh City Executive-Commercial Relationship Manager at NewBridge Bank. He is an experienced financial adviser to companies in finance, mergers and acquisitions, growth strategies and treasury management, and debt solutions. Webb is a licensed real estate broker and active community volunteer. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University.
John Wojcik is a Senior Vice President, Group Manager at PNC Bank. Wojcik works with a team of relationship managers to deliver value-added solutions to commercial companies located in Eastern North Carolina. John joined PNC in 2009 via PNC’s acquisition of National City Bank. Prior to his career in banking, John worked for six years as a civilian in the US Air Force.
Andy Penry, a former member of the Wake Tech Board of Trustees, is an attorney with Penry Riemann, PLLC, where he specializes in construction disputes, securities litigation, real estate litigation, and occupational licensing. He has served on the law school faculty at Campbell University. Penry is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocate and American Law Institute.
The Wake Tech Foundation manages private investments to serve Wake Tech students, faculty, and staff and connects private citizens, alumni, and corporate donors who are critical to the success of the college. Members serve three-year terms and are responsible for establishing policy, raising and managing funds, fostering relationships with potential donors, and supporting the objectives of Foundation staff. Potential members are approved by a nominating committee before being voted on by the entire board.
