RALEIGH, N.C. (July 9, 2013) - Three Wake Tech students won top honors in Phi Beta Lambda’s National Leadership Conference competition, held June 22-25 in Anaheim, California. Phi Beta Lambda is the national student academic organization for business and leadership.
The Wake Tech students who won top honors took home three awards:
- Fiaunna Shivers placed first in the nation in Future Business Educator.
- Evan MacIntyre earned fourth place in Retail Management.
- Marcia Tadrosse placed fourth in Sales Presentation.
Seven Wake Tech students competed in the nationals after winning at the statewide Phi Beta Lambda competition, held in April in Charlotte. They were among more than 1,800 students who showcased their leadership skills in competitive events against universities and colleges from across the United States, including the University of California at Berkeley, UCLA, and UNC Chapel Hill.
Fiaunna Shivers was selected for Who’s Who of North Carolina. The award honors PBL members who have made outstanding contributions to the association at the local, state, and national levels.
She also received the Presidential Level CMAP Award for completing extensive leadership activities throughout the year. Students also participated in several leadership seminars, networking events, and a charity walk for the March of Dimes.
