Wake Tech Announces Inaugural Concert Performance

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 9, 2013) - Wake Tech’s Fine Arts Department announces its 2013-2014 Concert Series. The public is invited to the inaugural performance which takes place Saturday, October 12th on the Northern Wake Campus. The Atomic Rhythm All-Stars will be on stage with an authentic recreation of the jazz sounds of the 1920’s and 30’s. The concert takes place in the Building E Performance Hall at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for students and Wake Tech employees, and $10 for the general public. Tickets will be sold at the door.

On Friday, November 9, the public is invited to watch as Wake Tech names its first Wake Tech Idol. More than 80 students auditioned and the top 12 finalists will compete for prizes. The grand prize winner will be awarded up to $1,000 toward college expenses! Wake Tech Idol takes place at 7:00 p.m. in the Building E Performance Hall. Admission is $5 for students and Wake Tech employees, and $10 for the general public. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Wake Tech debuted its new Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree this fall with concentrations for students to choose from: Music and Visual Art. Both provide a comprehensive and highly-personalized education with the core courses necessary to transfer to a four-year institution.

“Wake Tech’s new fine arts degree programs offer students an affordable way to earn the 64 hours required to continue their education in one of North Carolina’s public or private institutions,” says Department Head Dina Law. “The degrees allow students to develop their talents and pursue interests in a program with a rigorous curriculum, highly-qualified faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities.”
