Wake Tech Launches Online Resource for Career Exploration

RALEIGH, N.C. (June 4, 2014) - Wake Tech Community College now offers students and the community a powerful new resource for exploring potential careers. The college has launched Career Coach, a free online service that allows students and other visitors to Wake Tech’s website to research various careers and their employment prospects.

The real-time information at Career Coach is customized for the geographic region Wake Tech serves; it includes detailed wage estimates and up-to-date job postings associated with specific careers. Visitors to the site can create a log-in and bookmark job postings of interest. They can search careers based on their program of study or on the top training programs offered at Wake Tech.

“It’s important that students start programs at Wake Tech knowing what their employment prospects will be after graduating,” says Lynn Kavcsak, Associate Dean, Career and Employment Resources. “Career Coach enables users to explore certificate, diploma, and degree programs at Wake Tech and compare occupations that align with those disciplines and levels of education.”

Career Coach also includes a resume builder to help students and other jobseekers quickly put together a resume that highlights their skills and experiences in the most effective way. Career Coach is powered by data from Economic Modeling Specialists International (EMSI), a CareerBuilder company.
