Wake Tech Receives Grant To Support Veterans Program
RALEIGH, N.C. (May 6, 2016) - Wake Tech received two separate $5,000 grants from the Raleigh Accenture branch to support the Vets ACTS (Veterans Accelerated Career Transformation Services) program. Accenture is a leading global professional services company, providing a broad range of services and solutions in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations.
The first $5,000 grant will allow the Vets ACTS program to support five students in the Cisco cyber security program. The second $5,000 grant will support eight students in the Red Hat exam prep course for the Red Hat Certified System Administrator certificate.
The Vets ACTS program allows qualifying veterans and their spouses to participate in several Workforce Continuing Education training programs at no cost (including tuition, books, fees and certification exams). The Vets ACTS program also supports veterans and their spouses with wrap-around service referrals, and emergency funds for things like childcare and transportation.
Interested students should contact Grant Manager Marc Hillhouse for more information.
