Description

Join us as we honor the life, vision, and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Let's carve out the time to serve others when they need it most by fostering unity in the community. Select any combination or all three of the options below:

    1. NAACP MLK Virtual Celebration - 1/18 at 11am 
      • Tune in to the celebration of life and works of Dr. King via Zoom with keynote speaker Rev. William Barber II. Sign up to RSVP your space.

    2. United Way Triangle Supply Drive - 1/18 at 9am-3pm
      • Choose between Meals on Wheels, Urban Ministries of Durham, Inter-Faith Council for Social Services, and Johnston-Lee-Harnett Community Action to purchase and provide supplies needed for low income, elderly, and at-risk communities they serve. 
      • Check out the requested materials and drop off locations during this social-distant supply drive on January 18, between 9am -3pm

    3. 2021 Triangle Virtual MLK Celebration - 1/18 (assorted events/times)
      • Tune in to the celebration of life and works of Dr. King with a virtual prayer breakfast (7am), noon observation (12noon), and evening musical (5:30pm)

    4. **Newly added opportunity** Rise Against Hunger’s Gather for Good – 1/18 at 11am
        1. Since we cannot gather in person this year, Rise Against Hunger & Wake Tech Office of Volunteerism & Leadership are sponsoring a virtual event called Gather for Good. Gather for Good is an online trivia game and fundraiser that students and staff can participate gaining educational information on RISE’s mission, the expanding need for mitigating hunger due to the pandemic and economic crisis, and join in on a fun trivia. You can either “join a team” to play trivia for free (green button) or make a donation at any time (red button).
