International Civil Rights Center and Museum Day Trip | Thursday, January 18, 2024 | Greensboro, NC.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day (also known as Civil Rights Day), Wake Tech Student Activities is sponsoring a day-trip to the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro on Thursday, January 18, 2024 for the first 50 students who register. All Wake Tech students are invited to register for this educational experience. Students will experience the full, staff-led guided tour of the museum. After the tour has ended, students and staff will walk to a nearby restaurant for lunch before returning home. 

FAQs

1. Who can go? You must be a currently enrolled Wake Tech Community College student at the time of the trip. 

2. How old do you need to be? You must be 18 years or older to register. 

3. How many students can go? This opportunity is open to the first 50 students who register. A waitlist will be generated after the first 50.

4. Can I register my friends? No. You may only register yourself. 

5. How do I register? Log into Xtra with your Wake Tech student email and credentials. Click on REGISTRATION LINK on this event page.

6. When does registration close? Registration will close on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at midnight or when we have a full waitlist. Whichever comes first.

7. How much does it cost to go to the museum? Wake Tech students will receive FREE admission to the museum.

8. How will we get there? Student Activities will charter a coach to travel to and from the museum. 

9. How much will the transportation cost? Transportation is FREE for students.

10. Where will the coach pick up and drop off? The coach will pick up first at Southern Wake Campus. The second pick-up location will be at RTP Campus. We will then depart for our main destination in Greensboro. The return trip will first drop off at RTP Campus before a final drop off at Southern Wake Campus. 

11. What is the tentative itinerary for that day? Please note that all times are still to be finalized. Below is simply the tentative schedule for the coach.

8:00am | Pick up at SWC

8:45am | Pick up at RTP

10:00am | Arrive at the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro

10:15am | Check in at the Museum

10:30am | Guided Tour Starts

11:45am | Guided Tour Ends

12:00pm | Lunch

1:00pm | Depart for Home

2:30pm | Drop off at RTP

3:00pm | Drop off at SWC

12. How much will lunch cost? Lunch is FREE for students. Once your registration is fully complete, you will be sent a link to order your meal ahead of the trip.
