Intro to Medical Sonography

This course is designed to provide an introduction to Medical Sonography. Topics include applications, terminology, history, patient care, ethics, and basic skills. Upon completion, students should also be able to define sonographic applications, basic patient care skills, and preliminary scanning techniques. This class does not qualify a student to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RT(S) certifications and students are not qualified to work as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. A high school or equivalency diploma is required to register for this class.
