This course provides firefighters/EMS providers with a basic understanding of autism and how those with autism behave, communicate, and react in various situations. The course addresses high-risk and crisis situations and provides strategies for defusing and deescalating them. It also shows participants how to conduct assessments of patients or family members with autism.
