Wake Tech is closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Prospective students can still apply online, and current students can register for Spring semester classes. All classes will resume and offices will reopen on Monday morning.
Dr. Scott Ralls takes you inside the kitchens at Scott Northern Wake Campus for a behind-the-scenes interview with Chef Jeff Hadley and Chef Caralyn House. Hear more about the well-rounded experiences they bring to the table. You will uncover what brought them to Wake Tech and why they take so much pride in developing one of the best Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Arts programs in North Carolina.
Wake Tech's Culinary Arts program provides students with the critical competencies to compete in the job market and to successfully meet the requirements and demands of the industry. The curriculum includes a strong theoretical knowledge base, extensive practical applications and skill-building and an emphasis on professionalism.
The Baking & Pastry Arts program prepares students for quick entry into the industry in a variety of positions: baking/pastry assistant, area pastry chef and assistant pastry chef, among others. With experience, graduates can advance from entry-level positions to pastry chef, cake designer or bakery manager.
Jeff Hadley is chef instructor and head of the Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Arts programs at Wake Tech.
Caralyn House is director of Baking & Pastry Arts' baking program at Wake Tech.
