Wake Tech's Fall graduation ceremonies are set for 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Saturday on Scott Northern Wake Campus. Family and friends unable to attend in person can watch the ceremonies live online.

Cosmetology

In Cosmetology, you will learn how to cut, style, color, relax, perm and braid hair. You will also learn how to apply makeup, artificial nails and eyelashes and do manicures, pedicures and facials.

Students will learn about sanitation, bacteriology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology and other topics.

We offer a part-time day schedule, with each class meeting 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. three days a week, either Monday though Wednesday or Wednesday through Friday.

The part-time program takes about 18 months to complete.

Yes, Wake Tech hosts an annual job fair and offers internship opportunities with local salon owners to assist students with job placement.

Natural Hair Specialist

In the Natural Hair course, you will learn how to style natural hair with different techniques, such as knots, locs, cornrows, braids, twist, hair locking, artificial hair and decorations, blow dry, thermal and braid removal.

Students will learn about sanitation, bacteriology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and other topics without the use of chemicals.

The Natural Hair program takes about five months to complete, requiring 314 hours.

We offer an evening program that meets Monday through Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m.
