UPDATE: Quinton Taylor won both the Wake Tech Idol and the Business of Music for Entrepreneurs pitch competitions, capturing a total of $4,500 in scholarship and business support.

The eighth-annual singing competition will be held at the Scott Northern Wake Campus Lecture Hall at 7 p.m. The event follows a music business pitch competition at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the dual competitions are $8.
The 10 student finalists competing in Wake Tech Idol are:
Each student has already won $100 for making it to the finals, where they will compete for scholarship prizes of $2,000 for first place, $1,500 for second place and $1,250 for third place.

Before the singing begins, students in the Business of Music for Entrepreneurs course will pitch their ides for a music venture. The winner receives $2,500 to help get his or her idea off the ground. The second- and third-place finishers get $1,000 and $500, respectively.
